Werner Pusch

Werner Pusch (born August 17, 1913 in Templin , † September 16, 1988 in Gauting ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Pusch began studying modern philology and history, which he completed with both state exams. In 1937 he entered the secondary school service. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . During the war he was wounded and made a lieutenant. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner.

From 1947 to 1949 Pusch was employed by the State Ministry in Württemberg-Baden . In 1949/50 he worked as an employee at Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) and was archive manager there. From 1950 to 1953 he worked again as a study assessor in the school service in Korntal . He was later promoted to senior studies director. He switched to teaching in Hesse. Until his retirement, Pusch was active in adult education on the second educational path as the head of the Hessenkolleg Wetzlar, which he himself had built up and directed since 1967. In 1967 he wrote the libretto for Gustav Adolf Schlemm's opera Der Kaiser . In 1978 he retired as OStD and moved to Gauting, where he died 10 years later.

Political party

Pusch was a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) in Breslau from 1929 to 1933 . In 1947 he joined the SPD.

MP

From 1951 to 1953 Pusch was a council member of the Korntal community . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961. In both electoral terms he was drawn into parliament via the Baden-Württemberg state list.

Public offices

Pusch was a city councilor in Wetzlar from 1968 to 1972 .
