Norbert Killewald

Norbert Killewald (born February 10, 1961 in Dinslaken ) is a German SPD politician . From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and from 2010 to 2015 the disability officer of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . Since 2015 he has been the managing director of the NRW welfare foundation.

education and profession

After completing secondary school at Kevelaer secondary school in 1977, Killewald passed the technical college entrance qualification in 1978 and the general university entrance qualification at the Kevelaer grammar school in 1982 and trained as an educator at the Liebfrauenschule , home economics and social education school of the diocese of Münster in Geldern until 1986 . From 1988 to 1997 he studied pedagogy with a focus on adult education at the University of Cologne .

Between 1986 and 1989 he worked as an educator before working as a freelance trainer in the fields of IT and moderation techniques from 1990 to 1993. Between 1993 and 1998 he was head of the children's and youth recreation division at the DRK -Landesverband Nordrhein. From 1998 to 2003 he was a consultant for school work and from 2001 to 2004 head of the strategic management department. From 2004 to 2005 he worked as a coordinator of the state working group for free welfare in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since June 2015 he has been a board member and managing director of the NRW welfare foundation.

Norbert Killewald is married and has two children. One of his sisters was Clementia Killewald (1954-2016).

Political career

Norbert Killewald joined the SPD in 1986. From 1989 to 1994 and from 1997 to 2006 he was a member of the city council of Kevelaer . In the 2005 state elections , he entered the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia via the SPD state list. In the state parliament he was a full member of the Committee on Labor, Health and Social Affairs, the Committee on Budgetary Control and the Committee on Generations, Family and Integration. As the social policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group, his focus was on social and family policy.

In the election for mayor of the city of Kevelaer in 2009 , Killewald ran against incumbent Axel Stibi , but lost to him with 46.3% to 53.7% of the vote.

From September 2010 to 2015, Killewald was the disability officer of the North Rhine-Westphalian state government . For the state elections in 2017 he ran as a direct candidate in constituency 53 (Kleve I) , but did not achieve the necessary share of the vote to enter parliament.
