Christian-Friedrich Peter (born December 22, 1922 in Neumünster ; † June 22, 2005 ibid) was a German master baker , trade functionary and politician ( CDU ). From April 1, 1982 to April 22, 1986, Peter was mayor (chairman of the council assembly ) of the independent city of Neumünster.

Life

The Peter family ran a jersey factory on Kieler Strasse, and later Café Peter on Kuhberg in Neumünster. Peter attended the Holstenschule in Neumünster. From 1971 to 1992 he was president of the " Working Group for Grain Research eV" in Detmold .

Christian-Friedrich Peter, like his classmates, received the early "Notabitur" after the 12th grade of the Holstenschule so that he could immediately be used as a soldier in the war.

He served in the Air Force on the Eastern Front as an aircraft commander of a long-range reconnaissance and ended up being a lieutenant. His wife had their first child together in May 1945 in the inferno of Berlin. After a short American imprisonment, the professional decision was made to train as a baker and take over the café, or to start studying economics. 1958 son Jens was born.

The Abitur was recognized in many federal states, but not in Schleswig-Holstein. Because of the young family, to which another son came in 1948, and because of the hunger season, he decided to become a baker. As a young master craftsman, he was employed as a part-time vocational school teacher in the early 1950s and took over the Café am Kuhberg.

He then turned to local politics and, as a representative of the interests of the craftsmen, became master baker in Neumünster, state baker guild master and president of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Crafts. In the 1960s Christian-Friedrich was still in the FDP and became its local chairman and deputy mayor of Neumünster. When the FDP switched to the coalition with the SPD in Bonn in 1969, he changed parties and became a member of the CDU. From 1982 to 1986 he was mayor of his hometown.

The Peter family owns a historical family grave in the late Art Nouveau style in the north cemetery in Neumünster.
