Christian August Semler

Christian August Semler (born July 13, 1767 in Weißenfels , † December 18, 1825 in Dresden ) was a learned writer.

Life

Christian August Semler attended the Pforta State School from 1781 to 1786 and then studied theology at the University of Leipzig . After that he was briefly a teacher at the pedagogy in Halle, then went to Dresden and after a short time as a tutor, from 1800 he was employed as a secretary at the Royal Public Library in Dresden. Here he conducted studies on cultural history and Saxon regional history and published the results in magazines and books.
