Christian Berlakovits

Christian Berlakovits (* 1948 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer and diplomat .

Life

After receiving his doctorate in law (1970), Christian Berlakovits attended the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna from 1972 to 1974 . In 1976 the diplomat began his service in Rome (1976–1978). He also worked in Belgrade (1978–1982), Madrid (1987–1992) and as ambassador to Algiers (1992–1994).

After returning to Austria, he was entrusted with several leadership roles in Austrian foreign policy (head of the Citizens Service and the Legal and Consular Section). From 2007 to 2013 Christian Berlakovits was again the Austrian Ambassador to Italy .

He is a member of the Catholic student association KAV Capitolina Rome
