Christian Blumberg

Christian Gotthelf Blumberg (born February 24, 1664 in Obhausen ; † January 8, 1735 in Zwickau ) was a Lutheran theologian.

Blumberg studied theology at the universities of Leipzig and Jena and financed this mainly from his employment as court master .

In the course of the political events of the Palatinate War of Succession , Blumberg was field preacher for some time in 1689. In 1691 he was promoted to pastor of the Bernsbach church district in the Electorate of Saxony and three years later he was brought to Chemnitz as a deacon .

On October 6, 1698 doctorate Blumberg at the University of Wittenberg to Dr. theol. and in the same year became parish priest of Radeberg . Two years later, Blumberg was promoted to superintendent and transferred as such to Zwickau; he held this office until the end of his life. Blumberg died there shortly before his 71st birthday on January 8, 1735.
