Christian Bretscher (born September 10, 1963 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ). He was a member of the Cantonal Council from 1991 to 2000 and the Constitutional Council of the Canton of Zurich from 2000 to 2005 .

biography

Bretscher grew up in Birmensdorf . After completing his law degree at the University of Zurich , he was party secretary of the FDP in the canton of Zurich from 1988 to 1992. He has been working as a communications consultant since 1992 and in his own PR agency bretscher + partner since 2003.

He is the founding president of the Rotary Club Zurich-Üetliberg, a member of Mensa International and since 1996 a member of the Zunft zum Kämbel . From 2014 to 2018 he was editor of the guild magazine Kamelspuren and in November 2018 he was elected guild master.

Shortly after joining the Jungfreisinnigen and the FDP , Christian Bretscher made himself available for political mandates, including in primary school care in Birmensdorf, in various commissions of the Zurich FDP, from 1991 to 2000 in the Zurich Cantonal Council and from 2000 to 2005 in the Zurich Constitutional Council . Bretscher has been managing director of the Pro Flughafen association, which campaigns for the political interests of Zurich Airport, since 2003, managing director of the Zurich Banking Association since May 2013 and managing director of the UGW entrepreneurial group since 2019.
