Content focus and values

In the 2015 cantonal and national council elections, the party focused on the campaign theme of “securing and creating jobs”. This goal is to be achieved thanks to various measures. The companies must be relieved through tax reductions and bureaucracy, so that they can concentrate better on the success of domestic and foreign competition. Specifically, the party demanded that corporate tax reform III be implemented as quickly as possible. Furthermore, government spending is to be frozen and expensive projects prevented.

Another important aspect of job security is the bilateral agreements with the European Union, because the Swiss economy is closely linked to the European internal market. Free access to the market economy is a basic requirement for Swiss companies to be internationally successful. The party therefore consistently advocates the bilateral path with the European Union and further free trade agreements with other countries.

Ultimately, however, jobs can only be secured and created through innovation and first-class education. The party is therefore committed to making the canton of Zurich even more important as a research, education and innovation location. In concrete terms, this means that the dual education system and the compatibility of work and family should be strengthened.

The content-related positioning of the FDP Canton of Zurich is based on the ideological values of the FDP Switzerland : freedom, community spirit and progress. These values are the basis for free-spirited achievements such as: “Liberal economic and social order, federalism, direct democracy, rule of law, a strong but lean state, the militia system, a good education system and cosmopolitanism”.
