Hilmar Bender (* 1968 in Duisburg ) is a German author , copywriter and photographer .

Life

Born in Duisburg , Bender grew up on the Lower Rhine . After graduating from high school, he studied geography at the University of Cologne and the University of Hanover and successfully graduated with a diploma . However, he never worked as a geographer because he quickly gained a foothold as a copywriter. His customers included a. Coca-Cola , E.ON , Twix or Air Berlin .

First experiences as an author made Bender already during his time in Hanover punk scene in the early 1990s when Hardcore - Fanzine ZAP . In 1994 he got to know the band Tomte around singer Thees Uhlmann through a review of the first demo recordings . 2003 accompanied Bender the band on tour to write a diary in 2006 under the title The beauty of chance: days with Tomte tour at & Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf Verlag appeared. Together with Uhlmann and Nagel , the singer of the band Muff Potter , he then went on several reading tours .

In 2011 Bender published the book Violent Evolution at UBooks-Verlag , which documents the history of the German thrash metal band Kreator and a book about the work of the actor and musician Jared Leto .

Bender lives and works in Bremen today .
