Christian Joe Conteh (born August 27, 1999 ) is a German soccer player with Ghanaian roots. The winger has been under contract with Feyenoord Rotterdam since July 2020 .
Career
Conteh was trained in football in his hometown of Hamburg at SC Concordia and SC Victoria . For the 2017/18 season Conteh moved to the A-Juniors (U19) of FC St. Pauli , with whom he played in the A-Juniors Bundesliga . In April 2018 he also played in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord . For the 2018/19 season, the winger was firmly promoted to the second team, for which he was used 25 times (one goal).
Due to injury problems with regular players, head coach Jos Luhukay pulled him up to the professional squad and offered him on the first matchday of the second division season 2019/20 in a 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld in the professional starting line-up, where he scored the opening goal. By the end of October he came to 6 more second division appearances in which he scored a goal. After several injuries, Conteh was not used until the end of the season.
For the 2020/21 season, Conteh moved to the Dutch first division club Feyenoord Rotterdam , with whom he signed a contract until June 30, 2024.
Private
His older brother Sirlord (* 1996) is also a soccer player and is currently active at 1. FC Magdeburg . The brothers' parents come from Ghana and came to Germany in the 1990s.
