Christian Dieden (* December 10, 1810 in Ürzig ; † December 28, 1898 ibid) was a Prussian lawyer , politician and senior president of the Reichstag .

Life

Christian Dieden was born as the son of the winemaker Anton Dieden (* 1779 Bernkastel; † unknown) and his wife Anna Margaretha Mack (* 1783 Erden; † unknown) in Ürzig. He later became mayor of Ürzig and was a member of the Center Party in the Prussian House of Representatives . The House of Representatives he was from 1853 to 1855 to again 1860-1861 and finally from 1873 to 1898. He served as delegates of the constituency Trier Region 2 (Wittlich - Bernkastel) 1874-1898 Member of the German Reichstag , whose inaugural meeting on 4 July 1893 he was senior president . The occupation in the Reichstag protocols was initially “businessman and winery owner” and from 1881 “pensioner and winery owner”.

Dieden married Catharina Nicolai in Ürzig in 1843 (* 1814 in Ürzig; † unknown). Since he and his brother Peter Maternus Dieden (* 1812 in Ürzig; † unknown) left no children, they bequeathed their assets to the Catholic parish of Ürzig for the purpose of building a monastery with a chapel, child custody school, nursing home and nursing home. The monastery itself no longer exists. The buildings are now used by Caritas as the St. Josef retirement home .
