Christian Eberhard Georgii (born November 18, 1724 in Stuttgart ; † October 15, 1796 ibid) was a Württemberg major general and city ​​commander of Stuttgart.

Life

Christian Eberhard was a son of Johann Eberhard Georgii and his wife Katharina Magdalena Wolff (1702–1753). He made a military career, began in 1741 with the Württemberg cuirassier regiment " Duchess Maria Auguste " as an ensign, went into Prussian service a year later, and came back in 1750 and became captain. In April 1757 he became a lieutenant colonel, was given command of the third grenadier battalion and was captured by the Prussians in the Battle of Leuthen . He was interned at the Magdeburg Fortress. Two years later he was released again, was appointed colonel and transferred to the " von Degenfeld " dragoon regiment , where in 1765 he became regimental commander. In 1772 he was appointed major general and in 1775 city commander of Stuttgart. In 1782 Georgii was appointed commander of the military order of St. Charles .

Since 1752 he was married to Heinrike Dorothea (1726–1773), daughter of the physician Burkhard David Mauchart . The couple had the children Eberhard Friedrich (1757-1830) and Eberhardine Dorothea (* 1766).
