Christian Eminger (born October 21, 1964 in Baden , Aargau ) is an Austrian cyclist and former speed skater .

Career

Speed ​​skating

As a speed skater, Christian Eminger, the son of the speed skater Kurt Eminger , who also started at the Olympics , represented Austria between 1980 and 1998 at three Olympic Winter Games ( Sarajevo 1984 , Calgary 1988 and Lillehammer 1994 ), 13 world championships and 14 European championships. In World Cup races he achieved one victory (5000 m, Innsbruck), two second and four third places. He set a world record over 3000 m and won two world championship medals over 5000 m and 10000 m. He was also national coach for Switzerland for three years (2002-2004) and one year national coach for Austria. He achieved 103 top ten placements at World Championships, European Championships and World Cups. Failure to qualify for the 1998 Winter Olympics led to the end of his career as a speed skater.

Cycling

As a cyclist, Christian Eminger was third in the road race of the Austrian state championship in 1990 . In 2000 he won the Leimental Tour in Switzerland. At the Tour du Cameroun , Eminger was able to win a stage and came second in the overall standings. As a result, he finished seventh in the final ranking of the UCI Africa Tour 2005 .
