Christian Franz Peter Kram (* 1968 in Volkach ) is a German composer.

Life

Kram studied music theory with Mauricio Rosenmann Taub and piano at the Folkwang University in Essen as well as composition with Manfred Trojahn at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and with Peter Herrmann at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig . With a scholarship from the Free State of Saxony, he was a master student in Leipzig. After that he was repeatedly a resident and work grant recipient of the Kulturstiftung Sachsen in the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf . In 2002 he received a composition scholarship from Tübingen. In 2008 he was a prize winner of the 8th composition workshop of the Saxionade. He also attended master classes a . a. with Wolfgang Rihm , Osvaldas Balakauskas , Paul-Heinz Dittrich , Gerhard Stäbler , Mathias Spahlinger , Folke Rabe and Dieter Schnebel . He is the chairman of the Saxon Music Association , the Music Advisory Board of the Leipzig Cultural Office and a board member of MusikProjektSachsen. From 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the advisory board for music / performing arts of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony. His works include the opera Leonce and Lena, the Rilke-Gesänge for vocal quartet and piano (world premiere at Expo 2000 in Hanover), Assoluto for symphonic wind orchestra (world premiere by the Leipzig Radio Wind Orchestra ) and the orchestral cycle Etudes.
