Christian Ferkel (born November 13, 1881 in Augsburg , † October 12, 1934 in Leipzig ) was a trade unionist and social democratic politician.

Christian Ferkel first learned the profession of stone printer . Then he joined the free trade unions and the SPD . Between 1909 and 1911 he was chairman of a (union) work certificate. From 1911 to 1914 and then again from 1919 to 1922, Ferkel was chairman of the local lithographers 'and lithographers' association in Munich . In 1917 he joined the USPD . During the November Revolution, Ferkel was a member of the State Soldiers Council and the Provisional National Council of Bavaria. A candidacy for the Weimar National Assembly failed in 1919. From 1919 to 1922 he was chairman of the USPD in Munich and from 1920 to 1922 party secretary. Together with part of the USPD, Ferkel returned to the SPD in 1922. From 1923 to 1933 he was Gauleiter of the lithographers and lithographers association based in Leipzig. He was also a member of the state parliament of Saxony from 1926 to 1933 .

Immediately after the start of National Socialist rule , Ferkel was arrested. After his release, he and Maria Grollmuss organized help for the families of political prisoners. On August 1, 1934, Ferkel was arrested again in the course of an action against former social democratic functionaries.

After being imprisoned in Leipzig prison, he died of severe abuse in a hospital.
