Christian Fotsch (born October 21, 1962 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss musician and producer of music festivals.

Life

Christian Fotsch has been a professional string instrumentalist since the 1980s. After training as a flamenco guitarist, he specialized in dance accompaniment in Seville . He learned bouzouki , cümbüş , oud and double bass on extensive trips through Greece, Romania, Turkey, Albania and Ireland. With the group “Xenos” he gave concerts all over Europe and Australia. Since 2001 he has directed the annual “Oriental & Flamenco Gypsy Festival” , to which he has attended internationally renowned artists such as Esma Redžepova ( Macedonia ), Flamencos en route ( Spain ), Ida Kelerova ( Czech Republic ), Romano Drom ( Hungary ) and Dhoad ( India ) invites. He also organizes Irish folk festivals in Switzerland. With his formations “Ssassa” (Balkan music) and “Ceól” (Irish folk) as well as with the cabaret artist Rosetta Lopardo he appears regularly on Swiss stages. In addition, he gives around 200 intercultural schoolhouse concerts per year at Swiss primary and secondary schools.
