Christian Gehlsen

Christian Gehlsen (born September 25, 1942 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German politician.

Career

From 1961 to 1966 Gehlsen studied theology at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . From 1968 to 1972 he worked as a pastor, then until 1975 as a nurse and then until 1990 as the director of the welfare home of the Diakonie in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Before the turnaround, Gehlsen sat for the CDU in the district assembly of the Frankfurt (Oder) district . In 1987, however, he resigned from the CDU. At the time of the fall, he was active in the New Forum . In 1990 Gehlsen became a member of the city council of Frankfurt (Oder). From 1990 to 1994 he was an alderman for social affairs. In the state election in Brandenburg in 1994 , he succeeded in entering the state parliament as a non-party member via the state list of the PDS . On December 31, 1998, however, he left early. Kerstin Meier moved up for him .

Gehlsen was active in the Evangelical Hope Church Community Oderbruch-Süd in Sachsendorf and cared for sick people in the Frankfurt (Oder) hospice and clinic until they retired.
