Christian Gmünder (born  February 12, 1980 in Leutkirch ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player .

Career

In his youth, Gmünder played for FC Augsburg , FC Memmingen and SV Weiler.

From 2001 to 2003 he was under contract with SV Sandhausen . Christian Gmünder then moved to SC Pfullendorf , where he played until 2005. After a year with the regional league team SSV Reutlingen , he moved to 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 in 2006 , which was then still playing in the major league. In 2007 he rose to the Regionalliga Süd with the FCH. In the regional league season 2008/09 he then made promotion to the third division with the Heidenheimers .

Gmünder made his professional debut on March 17, 2010 when he was substituted on in the 78th minute of the away game against FC Bayern Munich II and scored his first third division goal in the 79th minute.

For the 2010/11 season Gmünder moved to the Baden-Württemberg league club SV Waldhof Mannheim .

After only one year in Mannheim, he moved to the first division club 1. FC Normannia Gmünd at the beginning of the 2011/12 season , with whom he was relegated to the association league. He spent the 2012/13 season at SV Göppingen .

From 2013 to 2015 Gmünder was assistant coach of the second team at VfR Aalen , as well as head of the VfR soccer school. In summer 2015 he switched to the professional squad at VfR Aalen as an assistant coach.
