Christian Gottlieb Kühnöl (born January 2, 1768 in Leipzig , † October 15, 1841 in Gießen ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Kühnöl was born in Leipzig in 1768 as the son of a pastor . He attended the Thomas School in Leipzig and received his doctorate early to Dr. phil. After graduating from high school in 1786, he studied philosophy and theology a . a. with Ernst Karl Rosenmüller at the University of Leipzig . In 1788 he completed his habilitation at the Philosophical Faculty. In 1790 he became associate professor of philosophy and curator at the Leipzig University Library . From 1801 he was a full professor of eloquence and poetry at the University of Giessen . He also became a professor of theology in Leipzig. The theological faculty of the University of Halle awarded him the Dr. theol. Kühnöl became a secret councilor in 1818 . He retired in 1840 and died in 1841.
