Christian Heinrich Günzler , von Günzler from 1836 , (born August 15, 1758 in Stuttgart ; † May 18, 1842 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life and work

Christian Heinrich Günzler attended the illustrious grammar school in Stuttgart from 1768 to 1776 , and from 1776 to 1780 he studied law in Tübingen . From 1780 to 1786 he was an attorney in the law firm, and he also frequently represented his father in his official business as a chief magistrate in Stuttgart. In 1786 he became the clerk and from 1786 to 1799 he was the clerk at the Stuttgart clerk . From 1799 to 1805 he was mayor and councilor in Stuttgart and during this time also a member of the ducal exchange court.

As early as 1804 Günzler tried to get a transfer after the electoral government intervened in his official duties. From 1805 to 1821 he was finally senior bailiff with government council character at the Oberamt Nürtingen . In 1821 he resigned from service due to old age and illness. From 1821 to 1842 he was a member of the file selection commission in Stuttgart. He was director of the Stuttgarter Kreditverein and a member of the central management of the charity.

Honors, ennobling

Christian Heinrich Günzler was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Stuttgart in 1801, making him the first honorary citizen of Stuttgart. At the same time he received the Great City Medal of the City of Stuttgart in gold. In 1825 he was honored with a gold medal for his work in the file selection committee. In 1836 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ).
