Christian Hupfauer (born August 7, 1993 in Bad Aibling ) is a professional snowboarder .

Career

Christian Hupfauer comes from Feldolling and starts for the ski and snowboard club SC Aising-Pang.

Christian was already enthusiastic about sports in kindergarten, so he played football at TV Feldkirchen and went skiing in winter. At the age of 8 he switched to snowboarding and competed in his first snowboard races. He also became a member of SC Aising-Pang. After 2 years at the Gunetzrheiner Realschule in Miesbach, Hupfauer switched to the CJD Christophorusschule Berchtesgaden, the elite school of sports, at the age of 13. Hupfauer has won the German championship title in parallel slalom, parallel giant slalom and snowboard cross several times . At the age of 17, Hupfauer joined the C-team of the Snowboard Association Snowboard Germany (SVD) and before he was promoted to the B-team in 2012. The Epstein-Barr virus (Pfeiffer's glandular fever) was diagnosed in mid-April 2014 , so Hupfauer has had an injured or sick status since then. After an 8-month sports break, Christian started training again in mid-December and got back on his snowboard in January. Since then he has tried to catch up with the top.

successes

In 2012 he reached second place in the German championship at Götschen (GER) and thus became German runner-up in the adult parallel slalom. He also achieved second place in the 2011/12 season at the Junior World Championships in Sierra Nevada (SPA) at the end of March. In December 2012, Hupfauer made his World Cup debut in Carezza, Italy . In the 2012/13 season he was able to take third place in the German championship. In August 2013, Hupfauer began training to become a federal police officer at the Bad Endorf Federal Police Sports School . After the long sick leave, Christian was still able to contest the German championship in 2015 and reached 3rd place in the parallel slalom.
