Christian Joseph Henke

Christian Joseph "Jos" Henke (born March 22, 1885 in The Hague ; † September 11, 1958 in Wirges , Rhineland-Palatinate ) was a Dutch painter and draftsman .

Life

After training stations in The Hague (around 1907) and Cologne (around 1908), Henke attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1910/1911 . There were Eduard von Gebhardt and Julius Paul Junghanns his teachers. From 1911 until his death, Henke worked in The Hague. He died while visiting Wirges, his mother's birthplace.

Henke created paintings with religious representations, still lifes (especially still lifes with flowers), figure representations, genre paintings, beach views and portraits.
