Christian Karl Füeßlin
Christian Karl Wilhelm Füeßlin (born December 5, 1783 in Karlsruhe ; † October 15, 1854 there ) was Lord Mayor of Karlsruhe.
Füeßlin was a businessman in Karlsruhe and co-owner of the specialty and hardware store Schneider und Füesslin . In 1813 he was a co-founder and board member of the later Chamber of Commerce. From 1833 to 1847 he was Lord Mayor of Karlsruhe. During his tenure, the Karlsruhe - Heidelberg railway line was opened and gas lighting was introduced.
From 1825 to 1828 he was a member of the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly .
Honors
- In 1839 Füeßlin was honored with the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Zähringer Lion .
- In 1960, Füßlinstrasse in the east of Karlsruhe was named after him.
