Christian Lübke
Christian Lübke (born December 17, 1953 in Langenhain-Ziegenberg , Hesse) is a German historian .
Christian Lübke studied Slavic Studies and Eastern European History at the Universities of Munich and Giessen from 1972 to 1980 . His academic teacher was Herbert Ludat . In 1980 he received his doctorate in Giessen with the work Novgorod in Russian literature . From 1980 to 1987 Lübke worked there as a research assistant. He then worked from 1987 to 1992 as a research assistant at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute at the Free University of Berlin . In 1996 he completed his habilitation with a study on foreigners in Eastern Europe at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1996 Lübke has been project manager at the Humanities Center for the History and Culture of Eastern Central Europe, today's Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe in Leipzig.
From 1998 to 2007 Lübke taught as professor for Eastern European history at the University of Greifswald . Since 2007 he has been director of the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe and Professor for the History of Eastern Central Europe at the University of Leipzig . Lübke is co-editor of the journal for East Central Europe research and member of the historical commission for Pomerania . In 2009 he was accepted as a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences .
