Christian Lechelt (born January 18, 1977 in Braunschweig ) is a German art historian and director of the Museum Schloss Fürstenberg .

Lechelt attended the Wilhelm Bracke Comprehensive School in Braunschweig until 1996 and studied art history at the University of Cologne until 2006 . He received his doctorate from the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) with a thesis on the Meissen porcelain artist Emil Paul Börner , who worked for the Meissen manufactory . Lechelt's doctoral thesis puts Börner's work in the context of the development of German porcelain in the first half of the 20th century.

In 2005 and 2006 Lechelt worked as an art mediator at the Cologne Museum Ludwig , and from 2009 to 2015 full-time as a curator and catalog author at Porzellanikon in Selb , Bavaria . Since October 2016 he directs in Fuerstenberg the Museum Schloss Furstenberg, where he was since 2015 project manager for the redesign of the re-opened in March 2017 the museum. He is a lecturer at the TUHH in Hamburg-Harburg and lives in Höxter .
