Christian Ludwig Meyer (organist)
Christian Ludwig Meyer (also: Ludwig Meyer and Louis Meyer as well as Christian Louis Meyer ; baptized February 17, 1736 in Hanover ; † 1790 ibid) was a German musician, pianist and organist .
Life
Christian Ludwig Meyer was born at the time of the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg during the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover in 1736 and was baptized as a Christian.
Meyer, who was friends with the Hanoverian archivist Johann Christian Kestner (1741-1800), got a job as a pianist in the Royal Electoral Orchestra of Hanover in 1765. Around two years later he also took over the duties of the palace organist in the palace church of the Leineschloss .
