Christian Macharski
Christian "Mahoni" Macharski (born June 3, 1969 in Wegberg ; † December 8, 2020 in Erkelenz ) was a German cabaret artist and author.
Career
After training as a banker and doing community service, Macharski studied German , philosophy and education at the University of Cologne . At that time he was a member of the comedy duo Rurtal Trio on German cabaret stages. Macharski founded the Rurtal Trio in the early 1990s together with his friend Marc Breuer. The first performance took place on July 12, 1991 in the Erkelenz parish home.
By the time they split up in 2008, the two-man trio had performed well over 1,000 in Germany and produced eight stage programs. With their special mixture of comedy and real satire, the two cabaret artists coined the term village comedy, which became their trademark. During his time in the Rurtal Trio, Macharski also worked as an author. He worked as a freelancer for Thomas-Koschwitz - and the Harald Schmidt Show as well as for WDR , RTL , Sat.1 . From 1994 to 2003 Macharski was a columnist for the Aachener Nachrichten , and from 2016 he wrote regularly for the Rheinische Post. As a solo cabaret artist, Macharski embodied the fictional character of the farmer Hastenraths Will on stage and on television . In his home region, he also offered so-called Selfkant safaris, which are comedy bus rides through the Selfkant . In addition, Hastenraths Will was also the protagonist of a village crime series that Macharski came up with in 2008. In November 2020, the 9th part of the village saga appeared with “The Friends of the Night”. From August 2012 to April 2019, a regular radio comedy with Hastenrath's Will ran on 100'5 Das Hitradio , which had over 1,500 episodes.
He died of a heart attack on December 8, 2020 at the age of 51 .
