João Bosco Barbosa de Sousa OFM (born December 8, 1952 in Guaratinguetá , Brazil ) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Osasco .

Life

João Bosco Barbosa de Sousa entered the religious order of the Franciscans and received on 7 January 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 7, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the bishop of União da Vitória . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy , Cláudio Hummes, OFM, donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Barra , Luís Flávio Cappio OFM, and the Bishop of Catanduva , Antônio Celso Queiroz .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Osasco on April 16, 2014 . The inauguration took place on July 20 of the same year.
