Christian Meyer Ross (born November 22, 1843 in Flekkefjord , † April 2, 1904 in Rome ) was a Norwegian painter.

Christian was born the son of the customs inspector Lauritz Lassen Ross (1794–1872) and Helene Dorthea Meyer (1801–59). At the age of 9, Ross came to Bergen, where he attended the Bergen Latin School until 1862.

He studied classical languages ​​for a year at the University of Christiania . He then studied at the Art Academy in Copenhagen .

From May 10, 1870, he continued his studies as a figure and history painter at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Wilhelm von Diez , but was matriculated under "Ross". He later continued his studies in Paris from 1875. There he was influenced by Ernest Meissonier and Ferdinand Roybet . In 1879 he settled in Rome, where he stayed until the end of his life. However, he often visited the Scandinavian autumn exhibitions. Meyer-Ross was chairman of the Scandinavian Association in Rome for several years.

Meyer Ross was buried on the Cimitero acattolico di Roma near the Cestius pyramid.
