Career
society
Obodo moved in the 2001/02 season from the relatively unknown Nigerian club Plateau United to the Italian Serie A club AC Perugia . In his second season in Perugia , the Nigerian made the leap into the regular formation. For the 2004/05 season, Obodo then moved to Fiorentina , where he was one of the top performers straight away. Since Fiorentina only owned half the rights to Obodo and Perugia the other, the two clubs had to come to an agreement at the end of the season on Obodo's whereabouts. Perugia won the bid, but immediately sold it again to his current club, Udinese Calcio , where it was used regularly in the first two seasons. In the third season, 2007/08, he only came on one use. Also in the 2008/09 season he was only a supplementary player.
National team
The Nigerian played 23 games for his national team . He made his debut in 2003 against Brazil . He scored his first goal in a 5-2 win over Algeria in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup .
