Christian Brandanus Hermann Pistorius (born May 12, 1763 or 1765 in Poseritz , † November 9, 1823 in Garz / Rügen ) was a German writer and translator.

Life

Christian Pistorius, eldest son of the Poseritz preposition Hermann Andreas Pistorius and his wife Sophie Juliane, daughter of the preposition Christian Anton Brunnemann in Bergen on Rügen , was tutored by his father and private tutors. Without having attended a higher public educational institution, he demonstrated his extensive knowledge in a series of scientific papers. He wrote essays for various magazines and made translations from Latin and English .

Because of his unstable health, he lived in his father's household until his father's death in 1798. Then he moved to his brother Philipp Pistorius (1767-1823), who was pastor in Garz on Rügen, where he was last looked after by his sister-in-law Charlotte Pistorius .
