Christian Prudhomme (born November 11, 1960 in Paris ) is a French journalist and director of the Tour de France since 2007 .

Christian Prudhomme began his career in French television and commented a. a. Football and cycling , before he worked as deputy tour director in 2004 and as general director of the Tour de France from the 2007 tour. Unlike his predecessor Jean-Marie Leblanc , Prudhomme was never a professional cyclist himself .

Since the end of 2008 he has been President of the Association Internationale des Organizateurs de Courses Cyclistes (AIOCC), which represents 129 international bike races, mainly from the UCI WorldTour and UCI Europe Tour .

In November 2015 Christian Prudhomme received from York St. John University the honorary doctorate awarded. This honored his contributions to promoting cycling in the Yorkshire region and around the world. In 2014, the Grand Départ of the Tour was held in Yorkshire in front of thousands of spectators.
