Association Internationale des Organisateurs de Courses Cyclistes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association Internationale des Organisateurs de Courses Cyclistes (French, abbreviation: AIOCC , German: International Association of Cycle Race Organizers) is an association of organizers of international cycle races .

In particular, the association represents the organizers of the races combined by the Union Cycliste Internationale in the UCI WorldTour and UCI Europe Tour . The president of the association, which represents 129 cycling races, has been Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme since the end of 2008 .

At the General Assembly 2011 of the AIOCC in Vienna , the focus was on the commitment to more environmental protection and the use of new technologies to increase the attractiveness of TV transmissions, such as GPS and helmet cameras. The AIOCC did not adhere to their demand for a ban on radio communications between racing cyclists and sporting directors in WorldTour races as well. This demand had been rejected by the ProTeams and their association AIGCP .

As a result of the Armstrong affair , the AIOCC decided at the end of 2012 to give priority to the members of the Mouvement Pour un Cyclisme Crédible (MPCC) when awarding wildcards for its races. Christian Prudhomme was confirmed in his office as chairman.
