Christian Rollet

Christian Rollet (* 1948 ) is a French drummer in the field of imaginary folklore .

In addition to studying philosophy, Rollet learned to play the drums on an autodidactic basis. Since 1968 he has been working as a professional musician in the fields of jazz and theater music. Shortly after it was founded, he joined the Workshop de Lyon , in which he still plays today. Between 1970 and 1973 he was also a member of the bands of François Tusques and Steve Lacy . In 1972 he founded the music theater La Carrérarie with Maurice Merle , in which he participated in many productions, developed plays and also directed. Since 1975 he played in the Lyon- based Marvelous Band . Together with his colleagues from this band and the workshop , he was involved in the founding of the Association à la Recherche d'un Folklore Imaginaire in 1977 , in whose big band Marmite Inferale he took the place of Christian Ville in 1988 . Also since 1988 he played in the trio of Patrick Vollat and the formation E'Guijecri , later in the percussion group Baron Samedi . Together with Jean Méreu and Guy Villerd, he developed the idea of ​​a gastro-musical Palace d'Arfi . With the groups of the ARFI he was increasingly traveling in other European countries, but also in North America, Africa and the Middle East. In recent years he has also played in the groups of Daunik Lazro , Thierry Maucci, with Norbert Stein , with Sophie Agnel and in Quatre à quatre (with M. Véronique, A. Binet, Jean Bolcato ).
