Christian Schafrik (born December 26, 1941 in Leslau ; † December 25, 2018 in Eisenach ) was a German pop singer .

Life

After finishing school, Schafrik started his apprenticeship at the Hotel Erfurter Hof in Erfurt and became a cook and waiter. During his apprenticeship he had his first band, the “Albergo Trio”. With this formation he won the talent elimination in Erfurt in 1959. This success was decisive for his later artistic development. He took singing lessons and self-taught drums, guitar and bass.

During the summer season of 1963 he worked as a waiter in the "Dünenhaus" restaurant in the Baltic Sea resort of Prerow , where he took part in an evening talent competition, which he won. The composer Ralf Petersen , who happened to be present, took a liking to Schafrik's voice and his modern style. He invited him to a microphone rehearsal at the Berliner Funkhaus.

In the autumn of 1963 Christian Schafrik sang in East Berlin and was accepted for music productions. Ralf Petersen wrote for him, together with Dieter Schneider, the title Gute Nacht, Maria-Maddalen , which was recorded on March 11, 1964. The song became a success. A few months later, the same authors published the Hully Gully title, Immer wieder ein Red Mouth , which also took first places in the radio and television charts.

In 1965 his first Amiga disk appeared. On it were the titles I'm always there for you (Klaus Hugo / Dieter Schneider) and Take It Easy ( Günther Kretschmer / Dieter Schneider). His titles Goldener Mond ( Rudi Werion / Dieter Schneider) and Sweet Kiss in the Moonlight (Ralf Petersen / Dieter Schneider) were also successful . Christian Schafrik produced a total of 49 titles.
