Dieter Schneider (born March 10, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German songwriter and songwriter.

biography

After school, high school and voluntary work in the press , radio and television, he worked as a freelance songwriter and created a variety of well-known songs and hits. Vocal interpreters from the GDR such as Uta Bresan (“I wish for more than the night”), Chris Doerk (“Every young girl is kissed sometimes”), Inka (“spoiler”), Monika Herz (“Little Bird”, “Charly, ade "), Olaf Berger (" It burns like fire "," It comes one way or another "), Frank Schöbel (" Looky, Looky "," Gold in your eyes "," Yes, football is round like the world ") , Brigitte Ahrens ("Where is the dear sun"), the duet Hauff and Henkler ("Today is full moon again") began their careers with his texts. He wrote several lyrics for the pioneer choir Omnibus , which was popular in the GDR (including “Endliche Ferien”). Texts by him were also sung in the Federal Republic of Germany , for example: Renate Holm (“Farewell, little swallow”), Tina York (“Give happiness a chance”), Marika Kilius (“First came a love look”), Manuela (“How many ways”, “I fell in love with you”), the Jacob Sisters (“Sun and Rain”), the Hazy Osterwald Sextet (“Looky, Looky”), Ted Herold (“I'm already taken "), Bruce Low (" A souvenir from Berlin "), Ralf Bendix (" Thank God she is slim ") and others. Dieter Schneider made a good name for himself by copying foreign titles. Performers like Zsuzsa Koncz from Budapest (“Endlich, finally”, “Colored Pencils”), the Red Guitars from Warsaw (“Anna Maria”), Lili Ivanova from Sofia (“Colorful Cars”) or Karel Gott from Prague (“Falls a Star on the sea ”) made the most important songs of their homeland known in German-speaking countries with their German lyrics. In addition, he won many prizes in national and international competitions, such as the "Golden Orpheus" in Bulgaria and the "Bratislavska Lyra" in Slovakia .

For almost a decade Dieter Schneider was the editor in charge of the seaman's series Klock 8, aft Strom , the harbor bar from the Rostock television studio . With his text contributions and songs he was significantly involved in the design of show blocks in TV programs such as “ A Kessel Buntes ”, “If already, because already”, “ There is music in it ”, “Everything sings” and others.

The spectrum of his topics ranges from love and everyday life to work, sport, humor, nature and the environment to political and social problems.

Schneider was honored with the GDR Art Prize for his work .
