Chris Doerk (born February 24, 1942 in Königsberg , East Prussia ) is a German singer, actress and painter who - also as a duet partner of Frank Schöbel - was especially popular in the GDR .

Life

Chris Doerk was trained as a utility applicant in Großenhain . She was a member of the Erich Weinert Ensemble of the NVA . In 1967 she received her professional ID as a pop singer . In the GDR hit competition in 1967 and 1969, Chris and Frank took top places with the titles Love me as your heart likes it, hang the moon in the trees and in the evening in the city. In 1969 Chris Doerk had her first show with Frank Schöbel and Horst Feuerstein . In 1970 she performed at the Varadero Festival in Cuba , where she became a crowd favorite over the years. Doerk and Schöbel were considered a dream couple in the GDR entertainment industry in the 1960s and early 1970s. They sang and unmoderated only on stage together, they played together in two DEFA - hit films . From 1966 to 1974 Chris Doerk and Frank Schöbel were married. Their son Alexander-Frank Schöbel (* 1968), who now lives in New Zealand , emerged from this relationship . Chris Doerk was a guest as a soloist and in a duet with Frank Schöbel in many television programs, including in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1972 in the ZDF - Starparade and from 1973 several times in the ZDF magazine Die Drehscheibe .

From 1971 she and Schöbel presented the DFF programs “Treff mit Chris und Frank” and “Disko-Treff”. In 1972 and 1973 she was a member of the National Committee for the Xth  World Festival of Youth and Students in East Berlin . In 1973 she received the gold cup at the XII for not a day . Schlager Festival of the Baltic States in Rostock . She expressed her political commitment with The Rose of Chile, among others .

After the divorce from Schöbel in 1974 and the related artistic separation, Doerk worked with the group Uve Schikora . After Schikora had used the opportunity of a stopover in Gander to flee on a concert tour in Cuba and had not returned to the GDR , Doerk founded the band Chris Doerk and their musicians . Due to vocal problems, she broke up her band in 1986.

She has toured in Syria , Iraq , Lebanon , Kuwait , the Soviet Union , Poland , Austria , Switzerland , the Federal Republic of Germany and Cyprus .

Chris Doerk has been a painter since 1990. In the 1990s, Doerk returned to the music business. In 2002 she published a book with her travel memories of Cuba ( La casita ).

After another year-long musical break, Chris Doerk has been a frequent guest at Frank Schöbel's concerts since 2008. She took up the title You stay a part of my life with him. In October 2012 Chris Doerk released an album with 13 new, mostly self-written hits, Nur eine Sommerliebe .

As a background singer Chris looked Doerk to the published 2016 album Dream it out of flowers by Christian Haase with.

Chris Doerk lives with her partner in Kleinmachnow .
