Ina-Maria Federowski (born September 28, 1949 in Freital ; † July 13, 2017 in Berlin ) was a German singer .

Life

After graduating from high school , she completed her professional training as a gardener . She received her artistic training at the "Carl Maria von Weber" music college in Dresden , which she completed with the state examination in "Classical Singing". Her first engagement was at the Dresden State Operetta . During this time she won first prize at the Goldener Rathausmann youth festival .

Federowski became a successful pop singer in the GDR and appeared at international festivals. She took first places in the GDR charts and had 200 appearances on television shows, including Das ist Musik für Sie and Ein Kessel Buntes , which she also moderated in 1987. Her brother Helmar Federowski was the sound engineer for the GDR record label Amiga in the 1970s and 1980s .

In 1996, she released her CD Opposites and appeared again in TV music shows, talk shows and live shows. Ina-Maria Federowski has been working with producer and publisher Jürgen Kerber since 2009 . In 2009, their first single in a long time came out after 2001 with Whatever .

Federowski lived in Dresden, was married to Roderich Schmidt and had a daughter. She died on July 13, 2017 in the Berlin Charité from cancer.
