Helmar Federowski (born May 3, 1946 in Freital ) is a German musician who, as a sound engineer , has overseen numerous record productions for the GDR state label Amiga .

Life

From 1952 to 1965 he was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor . In 1965 he went on to study singing at the Music Academy in Dresden, followed by a degree in sound engineering from 1967 to 1972. He then worked for the Amiga record label as a music / sound director and producer until 1986 , often together with Jürgen Lahrtz or Volkmar Andrä . He had his greatest success as a sound engineer in productions with bands such as the Puhdys , Karat , Silly and City . Sometimes he also appeared as a producer (for example on the album Fifth Season by Karat, 1987).

He has lived in Wilsdruff near Dresden since 1994 and works as a singing and keyboard teacher as well as a composer / arranger. He also runs a recording studio in Kesselsdorf and looks after the Wilsdruffer Wilandes Choir . Ina-Maria Federowski was his sister.
