The Mae Nam Chi ( Thai : แม่น้ำ ชี , "Chi River"), or just Chi , is the second largest river in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan , after the Mun .
At 765 kilometers, the Chi River is longer than the Mun, but overall more water flows through the Mun. Its catchment area covers about 49,476 km².
The source is in the Phetchabun Mountains ; the river runs through the provinces of Chaiyaphum , Khon Kaen , Maha Sarakham , Roi Et and Yasothon and flows into the Mun in Si Sa Ket .
