Christian Weber (born September 15, 1983 in Saarbrücken ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defensive all-rounder made his debut at 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2. Bundesliga at the age of 17 . Weber's youth clubs before moving to Saarbrücken were SC Großrosseln (1994–1995) and SV Emmersweiler (1989–1994), both clubs from Saarland.

After the Saarlanders were relegated in 2002, Weber moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth . There he was used in defense and on the left wing. In the following four years he made 120 appearances in the second division with the Fürth clover leaves.

From the 2006/07 season Weber played for MSV Duisburg in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 2007 as a regular player. In the top German league he was only used eleven times and was relegated a year later with the MSV.

In 2008 Weber signed a two-year contract with the Greek first division club AE Larisa . In June 2009, Weber moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2nd Bundesliga. He stayed there for three years and made it to the Bundesliga with the club in 2012. From the beginning of September 2012 to mid-January 2013 he played for Alemannia Aachen , then he returned to Fortuna Düsseldorf to strengthen the second team. On May 18, 2013 he was back in the first team for the last game of the season at Hannover 96 . At the end of 2013, he moved back to the professional squad under coach Oliver Reck .

At the end of the 2017/18 season he ended his active career with the second team in Düsseldorf after a cruciate ligament rupture.

After the end of his active career, he took up a position in the club's scouting department at Fortuna Düsseldorf.
