Christian Wilhelm Brose

Christian Wilhelm Brose (born July 14, 1781 , † January 13, 1870 ) was a Berlin banker .

After his marriage to Henriette Fetschow, Brose was accepted as a partner in his business by his father-in-law, Heinrich Friedrich Gottlieb Fetschow. He was also the auditor in charge of the "Association of Friends of Art in the Prussian State".

The Broses' residential and commercial building was in Klosterstrasse. 87, in the place where the television tower is today. The Brose family owned a summer house with a garden in the Berlin district of Niederschönhausen , which is also known as Brosepark .

Brose had good connections to Berlin greats of his time, e. B. to Karl Friedrich Schinkel , Christian Peter Wilhelm Beuth and the Gropius brothers . In 1861 he was awarded the Red Eagle Order, Third Class with Ribbon . His grave is located in the St. Marien and St. Nikolai Cemetery I in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg and, together with the mausoleum of the whole family, forms one of the most important structures there.
