Christian Wilhelm von Zieten

Christian Wilhelm von Zieten ( April 7, 1706 , † April 18, 1778 in Züllichau ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 43 .

His father was Kaspar Siegmund von Zieten († December 22, 1718), Lord of Metzelthin and Langen, his mother was his wife Katharina Maria von Zieten (June 14, 1680; † 1713) from the Brunne family. He was the brother of Hans Sigismund von Zieten .

Life

As early as 1722 he became a cadet in the Prussian army, in which he was Premier-Lieutenant until the death of Friedrich Wilhelm I. Under Frederick II , he became a captain (captain) in the new infantry regiment No. 37 (du Moulin) in 1741 . He became major in 1745 and lieutenant colonel in 1756 and colonel in 1757 and major general in 1758.

In 1760 he received the Fuselier Regiment (Bredow). In 1767 he applied for his departure, which was granted to him with a pension of 2000 thalers. He went to his estate in Züllichau, where he died of dropsy on April 18, 1778 .

He was involved in the Silesian Wars and the Seven Years' War , where he was badly injured in the left foot in the Battle of Lobositz . He was the bearer of the Pour le Mérite , which he had acquired as a major.

He was married to NN Albrecht, no children are known.
