Christian Zehe (born August 30, 1967 in Rostock ) is a former German eventing rider .

One of the first great successes in Zehes career was the third place at the last GDR championships in military (today versatility) in 1990. Successes also followed after the German reunification, so that he was nominated for the European championship in 1991. During this time he was a student of mechanical engineering. At this European Championship in Punchestown , he and Gallus took seventh place in the individual ranking.

Thereupon Gallus voted "Horse of the Year 1991", an award that traditionally the CHIO Aachen will be presented.

The year 1992 was tragic for Zehe. Gallus collapsed dead during gallop training . The reason for this was the rupture of the main artery. At this point in time, Zehe and Gallus were close to the Olympic Games for which they were nominated. The then national coach Martin Plewa commented on this:

“It is of course a big loss for us because this horse was hard to beat in the field. "

After he continued to take part in eventing competitions in the following years, he increasingly concentrated on building courses for eventing tournaments , for example, he was responsible for the course construction at the world cup tournament in Strzegom. In this role, he also develops and builds new terrain obstacles, such as a tree trunk obstacle that can be thrown off in the event of a strong impact for the terrain course of the Warendorf Bundeschampionate .

Zehe started as a rider for the Reit- und Fahrverein Groß Lüsewitz eV, which is initially located in Groß Lüsewitz and since 1998 on the farm of the Zehe family in Sanitz near Rostock. He was a member of the board of the Bad Doberan District Equestrian Association.
