Christiane Barckhausen
Christiane Barckhausen (born May 9, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German writer and translator.
Life
Christiane Barckhausen is the daughter of the writer, translator and screenwriter Joachim Barckhausen and the writer Elfriede Brüning .
Barckhausen grew up in Berlin. From 1960 to 1962 she studied ethnology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1962 to 1980 she worked as an interpreter and translator from Spanish . In 1979 she shot the documentary Stay on Earth with the Chilean director Orlando Lübbert about wounded Sandinista who were receiving medical care in East Berlin. Between 1978 and 1984 she stayed longer in Mexico , Cuba and Nicaragua . In several of her works she dealt with the Mexican photographer and revolutionary Tina Modotti .
On the IX. At the GDR Writers ' Congress she was elected to the board of the GDR Writers' Association on June 2, 1983 , and re-elected as a member at the Xth Congress on November 26, 1987.
