Christiane Katharina Kuhl (born April 28, 1966 in Bonn ) is a German doctor and university professor . She is a university professor at RWTH Aachen University , where she holds the chair for diagnostic and interventional radiology and is director of the clinic of the same name at the Aachen University Hospital . Kuhl's scientific focus is on the image-guided therapy of tumor diseases and breast cancer diagnostics .

Career

Kuhl studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where she passed the state examination in December 1991. After several years of scientific work at the MRT section of the Radiological Clinic of the University of Bonn, she received her doctorate in 1994 with “summa cum laude” in the field of 31P MR spectroscopy of neuromuscular diseases.

Kuhl completed his further training as a specialist between 1992 and 1998 at the Bonn University Clinic for Radiology, interrupted from 1994 to 1995 by further clinical training at the Clinic for Neurosurgery. She received recognition for further training as a radiologist in 1999.

After habilitation and the granting of the Venia legendi in 1999 and further training in general and special neuroradiology with the additional qualification of neuroradiology , she was promoted to senior physician at the Radiological Clinic of the University of Bonn and in 2004 to senior physician. At the same time, in 2004 she was given a university professorship (C3) for oncological diagnostics and minimally invasive tumor therapy at the University of Bonn. From 2008 to 2010, Kuhl was Vice Rector for Public Relations and International Affairs in the Rectorate Jürgen Fohrmann of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.

In the meantime, in 2009 he was offered the chair for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at RWTH Aachen University, combined with the management of the clinic of the same name, which Kuhl accepted in March 2010. Since May 1st, 2010 she has been professor of radiology at RWTH Aachen University.

In the same year, he was recognized as a trainer for the field of interventional radiology in accordance with the German Society for Interventional Radiology (DeGIR) , modules A – D, as well as the granting of further training authorization for the entire field of radiology.

Scientific activity

Kuhl is the author of scientific publications that deal predominantly with the diagnosis of tumor diseases. Here she wrote fundamental, much-cited works that have had a lasting impact on diagnosis and early detection of breast cancer . She is one of the internationally influential and frequently cited radiologists ( h ‑ index : 62, i10 ‑ index: 171, cumulative impact factor : 1377).

Kuhl was and is the initiator and director of a large number of national and international clinical studies (selection):
