Christiane Poertgen

Christiane Poertgen (born September 29, 1962 in Münster ) is a German journalist , moderator and (certified) mediator .

Life

Poertgen grew up in her native city of Münster. After graduating from high school, she went to Vienna to study acting, then returned to Münster, where she completed a traineeship with the Westfälische Nachrichten, where she then also worked as an editor. She studied journalism and psychology at the TU Dortmund and spent a stay abroad in the USA at the Columbia School of Journalism in New York . Through her journalism studies and the Uni-Radio project, she first came into contact with West German Broadcasting in 1991, first becoming a freelance radio reporter, later a television writer and live reporter for WDR local time as well as at home and on the go . Since 2010 she has also been practicing as a mediator certified by the TU Dortmund. Christiane Poertgen is married and lives in Dortmund with her husband and two children.

As a member of Zonta International , Christiane Poertgen is involved in various social projects that improve the living conditions of disadvantaged women. She also trained as an emergency chaplain.
