Christina Geiger (born September 22, 1983 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a former German soccer player and today's trainer and coach.

Career

Christina Geiger played most of her active career for TUS Niederkirchen (later 1. FFC 08 Niederkirchen , inter alia as captain). As a selection player, she went through all teams of the Southwest German Football Association from the U15 to the U21, also here partly as a captain. Christina Geiger started at the age of six in the male youth of TSV Neuleiningen , where she played from the F- (1989) to the C-youth (1997). In the 1997/1998 season she was allowed to play for a third year in the C-youth group with a special permit for association selection players. From the 1999/2000 season she belonged to the squad of the 1st women's team in the 1st Women's Bundesliga , where she had already trained in the previous season, but was not allowed to be used due to age. She made her debut on matchday 1 on August 29, 1999 in a 3-0 win over 1. FC Nürnberg with her substitution in the 88th minute. In the game against FFC Flaesheim-Hillen on November 21, 1999, which could be won 1-0, she was the best player.

In total, Christina Geiger played two years in the 1st Bundesliga, 7½ years in the second highest division and 1½ years in the third division. For one season (2004/2005) she played at league competitor SC Siegelbach , from where she was then brought back to her home club in Niederkirchen.

After the club TUS Niederkirchen had not applied for another license for the 2nd Bundesliga for the next season in 2008, the team had to relegate to the Regionalliga Südwest at the end of the season despite successful placement on a non-relegation place and under the umbrella of the newly founded club 1. Start FFC 08 Niederkirchen . After missing a direct return to the 2nd Women's Bundesliga, she moved to the first team of TUS Wörrstadt in the winter of the 2009/2010 season , where she was used in the second half of the 2nd Women's Bundesliga in all games over the entire game and then ended her active career in summer 2010. She played her last Bundesliga game on May 9, 2010 (22nd matchday) in a 0-1 defeat in the away game against the champions at the time and promoted to the 1st division Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
