Christina Mundlos

Christina Mundlos (born February 25, 1982 in Braunschweig ) is a German sociologist , feminist author and equal opportunities officer.

Life

Christina Mundlos is the daughter of CDU politician Heidemarie Mundlos . After graduating from the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorusschule Braunschweig in 2001, she completed basic training with the German armed forces and was one of the first women to attend the Luftwaffe officers' school in Fürstenfeldbruck.

From 2004 to 2009 Mundlos studied sociology, German language and literature as well as women's and gender studies at the University of Kassel .

In 2008 Mundlos won the “Structural Equal Opportunities” competition at the University of Kassel as a student. With the money received for this, she created jobs for students and launched the “Women's University Week”.

From 2009 to October 2014 she worked in the Equal Opportunities Office of the University of Hanover, where she most recently headed the family service office. She has also been a freelance writer since 2010 and published seven non-fiction books between 2010 and 2017.

Most of her books deal with the topics of motherhood , beauty dictation, sexism . Her book When Mother Doesn't Make You Happy, published in 2015, deals with the phenomenon of regretting motherhood . The book attracted media coverage across Germany. Mundlos gave interviews in print media, radio and television. In her book, also published in 2015, Violence During Childbirth , she uses reports from those affected to address the violence in obstetrics that many women experience during childbirth in German clinics.

Mundlos has been the equal opportunities officer of the city of Langenhagen since December 2016.

In 2018 she completed her training as a non-medical obstetrician ( doula ).

Mundlos writes a feminist blog that deals, among other things, with the gender pay gap and rape in the delivery room.
