Christina Poulitsi ( Greek Χριστίνα Πουλίτση *, 1983 in Athens ) is a Greek opera singer in the vocal range of a coloratura soprano .

Life

Christina Poulitsi studied musicology and music theory at the University of Athens . She then studied in Berlin as a graduate of the Maria Callas Foundation at the University of the Arts .

In 2009 she made her debut as Isabella in Gioachino Rossini's opera L'inganno felice at the Greek National Opera in Athens. Since then she has performed there regularly. Her previous roles include Musetta in La Bohème and Sister Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites .

A year later she sang in Rossini's Il viaggio a Reims as part of the Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro . Her best-known role is that of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte . She sang this role in Düsseldorf at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein , at the Komische Oper Berlin , at the Semperoper in Dresden , the Turin Opera , the opera houses of Cagliari and Athens and the Freiburg Opera .

In August 2014 she was a finalist in the World Opera Competition , an international opera competition. In the same year she was voted best young singer of the year. In the 2014/15 season she will also be a guest at the Semperoper in the opera Capriccio .
